Lessons from 2015

January 1, 2016

God didn’t mean a sauna on a cruise ship when He referred to a furnace purifying our faith.  Being pruned to be like Him hurts.

Waiting is often a bigger part of life than that which we are waiting for – therefore it is better to let God shape us while in the waiting room because fighting the process doesn’t make time pass faster.

Find joy in the every day little blessings - it is the secret of contentment.

Some doors are meant to remain shut.

Godly friends are God’s hands and feet on earth– don’t live like an island.

When I feel like throwing a pity party I just have to take a look at suffering around the globe - it always puts my own suffering into perspective.  Soon my lamentation turns to praise.

God is faithful. Immanuel means God with us.  That blows my mind.  God with us.

If you only have 30 seconds to Skype one last time with someone you love it tears through the fluff of life and what is truly important becomes crystal clear:

I know God is here with me and I know that He is there with you.

I love you.”

All of life that matters summed up.

So it is with the peace of knowing that He was with us every step of every day of 2015 that we thank Him for His mercy and with the deep seated knowledge cultivated in the waiting room that He will be with us tomorrow that we welcome  2016.
